Harborline Mutual today opened a drive-in claims center at its Ontario office, where members in the Inland Empire and Los Angeles County can have a damaged car inspected and estimated in about 30 minutes, without an appointment.
Members drive into one of four covered bays, where a Harborline appraiser photographs and measures the damage and writes the estimate while the member waits. Members can leave with an estimate, a rental car reservation, and, if they choose, a repair shop appointment. Where the car cannot be safely repaired, the appraiser can start a total loss settlement the same visit.
The center serves the part of Harborline's California book that has grown fastest over the last five years. About 41,000 Harborline auto policies are garaged within 30 miles of the site.
Most people want two things after an accident: to know what it will cost, and to know when they'll have a car. Here they can find out both before they've finished a cup of coffee.
Adaeze Morrow, Chief Claims OfficerMembers who prefer can still send photos for an estimate from their phone or have an appraiser come to them. The drive-in center is for people who would rather be done in one visit.
Ontario drive-in claims center
- At the Harborline Ontario office, open weekdays 8am to 6pm and Saturdays 8am to 1pm.
- No appointment needed. Report the claim first, online or at (619) 555-0148, so the appraiser has it ready.
- Auto damage of any kind: collision, hail, vandalism, glass.
- Open to Harborline members, and to people with a claim against a Harborline member.
The center is staffed by eight appraisers, six of them hired from the region for the opening. Harborline plans a similar center in the Phoenix area in 2027.
