Accessibility

Everyone should be able to buy a policy, report a claim and manage their account, whatever device or assistive technology they use. If something on this site gets in your way, tell us and we will help another way while we fix it.

What we aim for

We design and test this website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. In practice that means:

  • Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline showing where you are.
  • Text and controls have enough contrast to read in bright light, which matters for someone reporting a claim at the roadside.
  • Form fields have labels that screen readers announce, and errors say what went wrong and how to fix it.
  • Photographs have text descriptions, and nothing important is shown only in an image or only by color.
  • Pages work when text is enlarged to 200 percent, and on a phone held in one hand.
  • Nothing flashes, and motion is reduced if your device asks for it.

How we check

Every new page is tested with automated tools and by people using a keyboard, a screen reader on a computer and a screen reader on a phone. Once a year an outside accessibility specialist reviews the site, including the claims form and the member account, and we publish what they found here.

What we know is not right yet

  • Some older policy documents in member accounts are scanned PDFs that a screen reader cannot read. Call us and we will send an accessible version or read it with you.
  • The quote tool does not yet announce when the price updates. We expect to fix this by the end of 2026.
